and I’m done, I’m hanging up on you.

I've got a confession, bitchesWell, today’s the day. Tuesday, November 15, 2005 is, at least in gay world, Madonna day. Today, Madonna’s new album, Confessions on a Dancefloor drops, and to put it quite frankly, this is one queen that honestly couldn’t care less. Yes I must admit, I was privy to the pre-release version (i.e., the “Å“leaked” version). No, whether you believe me or not, I didn’t download it; someone actually gave it to me (honest to God). And yes, despite the skepticism in my voice, I did try really hard to like it. But, I just don’t. There are only so many times I could suffer through “I Love New York”. The first three songs; I admit are actually kind of awesome, nothing really special or groundbreaking, but fun to listen to and groove to in my car. As of right now, I love them. But I know that in 3 months, that I will hate them, because even “ËœHung Up’ is really starting to make my left eye twitch when she says “Å“ring, ring, ring goes the telephone”; despite the infectious beat and fabulous ABBA sample. Overall, I honestly must say I am not surprised. I guess I was not really looking forward to it, which is probably a good thing, since it leaves me without a feeling of disappointment. Sorry, but I feel like it should be said aloud; Madonna gave us exactly what we were expecting…nothing special.

I know that there is a collective “Å“gay sigh” going on out there (cue the Kathy Griffin gay sigh) at everything I am saying, but honestly, I can’t take it anymore. I don’t really care for Madonna. I have tried to like her, I really have, but I just can’t do it. I can’t make it stick. I keep fucking up the landing. I will like her for a little bit, and then it will slide away again. I will start to enjoy something that she has done, and then she will release shit like “ËœRay of Light’; which, for the record, is one of the worst songs ever recorded, written, etc. (and it won a Grammy!). So this time, I am digging in my heels, and tearing off that corner of my gay card; I am not a Madonna fan, and I don’t care who knows it. I am coming out of the closet and admitting that I don’t really care for Madonna.

shut up about the piracy! I am sick of it!

Now, I know that music piracy and “Å“illegal” downloading is a sensitive subject for some, but not for me. Not anymore anyway; I want it known that I think that whole thing is a load of horse shit. I have commented on it before, in the form of a rant to Sony about their new uber-evil tactics to prevent you from copying a damn CD that you just freshly purchased (which you can read here); and then today, I read this. Seems that Sony is not only preventing you from copying the CD that you RIGHTFULLY PAID FOR, but they are putting malicious software on your PC, just because you were unlucky enough to buy one of those CDs in the first place.

someone doubts my commitment to sparkle motion

No seriously, I didn’t know!!! APPARENTLY, my favorite game in the entire world came out with a sequel, and I didn’t know! My good buddy Steve informed me that Soul Calibur III came out, and you guessed it, I didn’t know. Now, the trouble begins… do I run out and buy it, only to sit mindlessly in front of the PS2 for the next couple of weeks, or do I wait?? But how could I, I gotta go get it! And Steve, get ready to be schooled biatch… I see that Talim is still a character choice. BOO-RAA!!!

UPDATE: Did I suggest waiting? HA! I practically knocked my computer over when I jumped up to go to Best Buy to get this game… and it is um, how should I say it? Awesome. It completely rocks the face off SCII. If you like SCII, buy this bitch. It is sweet!

And that concludes my acting like a complete nerd.

can’t leave well enough alone…

I did some fucking with the stylesheet, so that the perfectionist in me could be happy; you are supposed to see a random image at the top in the banner. If you don’t let me know, and offer some suggestions on how to fix it. It is a php script, yo. If you want to change the image, use the usual control+shift+refresh. It should make it move on to something else… hopefully. UPDATE: It apparently isn’t random… if you have a script that works to call the image THROUGH CSS, and randomly displays images (for reals), give it to me!

Also, James and I went to Krispy Kreme for some unknown reason today, and after sitting in there for the amount of time it took to consume the very few donuts we ate, I feel like shit. The thought of eating another donut makes me want to hurl. Does that mean that I never indulge, and thus my body doesn’t like it? Or is it my self conscious side getting me back for being a glutton? At least I wasn’t like the bear daddy in front of us in line; he practically bitched the girl out, to make sure she wouldn’t stack his hot donuts. Geez… he knew his donuts.

…and a tranny was the judge.

Apparently, you shouldn’t blog when you are drunk, case and point:

Tonight, I finally went on the sweetwater brewery tour, which I have been wanting to go on for like the entire 5 years I have been living here. It is so cool. You get a glass and 3 beers for $6. It used to be all you could drink, but sucky Atlanta laws stopped that… assholes. Either way, if you are around at 4:20 on a Monday or a Thursday, I highly recommend it… good beer, and good music, good times are sure to follow! Drink on! Now I am going to lay down, after drinking took place, and I am now in for the night… man, what happened to my twenties???

With that being said, looking back on last night, a lot of fun was had. The sweetwater tour was awesome. I recommend it to anyone. Good booze, good times, and a free glass!! After getting our drinks down, James decided it would be best to purchase $55 worth of t shirts that said Sweetwater in some fashion or another on them. He was calling out things like, “blue or brown?”, followed by, “I’ll take them both!” Following out stint at the brewery, we headed over to Monterey’s for some delicious Mexican food and margaritas. We proceeded to get more tore up, and after two margaritas I was ready to challenge Bree to a high kick contest; right there in the restaurant. So, Bree and I showed our best high kicks; and our fierce tranny waiter was the judge. Too bad for Bree, my high kick cannot be rivaled, and I was determined the winner. After that, it pretty much turns a blur, but needless to say, there was an attempt at blogging; thank GOD for the spell check feature on the Google toolbar, otherwise I would have really looked like a drunk. Well, even more of one. Anyway… tonight, we are off to wetbar, for the grand opening. If you are out there, give me a shout, I will be the one dancing my ass off to Jr. Vasquez. Woot!

Dance baby, dance!
Madonna – Sorry
Kelly Clarkson – Because of You (Jason Nevins)
Freemasons – Love on my Mind

I got the flu shot this morning…

And in honor of my pain, I thought I would bring you this hilarious tidbit about a worldwide flandemic possibility published on theonion.com. (thanks to Deb!)

New Custard Could Cause Worldwide Flandemic
ATLANTA””A recently discovered strain of custard could cause a worldwide flandemic, Centers For Dessert Control warned Monday. “We are warning people who come into contact with milk, egg yolks, sugar, and whole vanilla beans that they are at risk of concocting this custard,” CDC director Paul Liddleston said. “All reports indicate that it is extremely non-resistible.” Liddleston said the government’s present reserve of dried tapioca is “useless” in combating a flandemic, and until a more effective vaccine is created, “the proof will be in the putting of containment teams in high-risk areas.”
