So, basically, I have decided to move to England. After all, they are the latest in a string of progressive countries, being that they have legalized gay “marriage”, and couples can register to marry as of today. Interestingly enough, South Africa made a similar move about a week ago, when they too legalized gay marriages, and showed us who was boss of the “free” world. My only question is, America, what the hell are we waiting for? Countries all over the world are starting to realize something that we were freaking founded on; freedom for all. Why can’t we at least follow suit? It isn’t like we are asking for a lot here; well, I guess we are, we are asking for the religious right to suspend all of their hatred and evil will towards homosexuality, and just let us live together in peace. I mean, that isn’t too much, is it?
Well, I for one am asking, no fuck that, demanding that this civil equalizer make its way to the good old US of A. It is about time that we can be free in our own country, right? Let me see how I can get through to you, America… Hmmm… You like money! That’s right!!! Well look at this then; we (the gays, that is), as I have heard it said, command an estimated 600 billion dollars of revenue in the US each year. What would you do if we were to up and take that to Canada, England, Spain, Denmark, or South Africa (I know there are a couple of other countries it is legal in, but these are good enough to prove my point)? They are now welcoming us, and our money with open arms! I bet that you would at least notice that we were gone, and miss our money, if not us. Not to mention, think of all of the new revenue gay marriages would bring in! Damn if we can’t throw a fabulous party! And, who do you think designs most of the weddings that take place right now? Believe me, if you look at nothing else, focus on the money. We’ll just take the equal rights.
Legalize gay marriage in the US! Damn, sometimes you have to talk to a republican about what they care most about… Money. Why haven’t we focused more on this as our platform!?!
